This day we started in Green Bay WI and drove across Wisconsin and Minnesota, ending up in Sioux Falls, SD for the night.

It was another beautiful day for a drive. The roads in WI are mostly two laned country style roads and wind through woods and farms. We stopped in a couple of small towns for gas and snacks. One store in northern WI had everything you could want, almost every imaginable firearm, fishing tackle, snacks and scripture everywhere. Steph swears that she saw a rifle that had a $10,000 price tag on it! This is the Wisconsin that Steph remembered from her time here before.

After we left WI we rolled into Minnesota. More beautiful farmland as far as we could see. The freeway is made in red asphalt. The highlight of this leg was catching up with some old friends. Steph had her CD collection and we listened to DC Talk, Newsboys and Rich Mullins. A great trip down memory lane for me. We briefly visited Welcome (population of 696).  We were ensuring that the MN Highway Patrol trooper that turned around behind us was just looking for donuts and not us. After that brief detour we pushed on in to Sioux Falls SD.

Fellow traveler, a word about Sioux Falls to help you to enjoy your journey to the fullest. Firstly, make sure that you find a restaurant before 10 PM. At that time almost all eateries lock up (even if the door says otherwise). We found a McDonald’s that was happy to feed us. I thought that we would be dining on those gas station hot dogs that petrify on the rollers until the health inspector shows up. Instead it was fresh Big Macs.

Also, fellow traveler, avoid the Econolodge in that city at all costs. Just trust us on this.

We finally fell asleep about midnight local time. The day was good.
